Privacy Policy — Enatna (እናጥና)

Last updated: 9 October 2026

Enatna is a study app that helps Ethiopian students prepare for the Grade 6, Grade 8 and Grade 12 (university entrance) national exams. This policy explains, in plain language, what information we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it.

The short version: we only collect what the app needs to work — your account details, your study preferences, and (if you buy a subject) your payment confirmation. We never sell your data, never show you ads, and never share your information with advertisers.

1. Who we are

Enatna is operated by an independent developer based in Ethiopia. For any question about this policy or your data, contact us:

2. What we collect

3. What we do NOT collect

4. Why we collect it

5. What other students can see

So that friends can find each other, the app publishes a small public profile card: your nickname, profile picture colour, school, and exam level. Your email address, payment information, and study results are never visible to other students.

6. Where your data is stored

Your data is stored securely with Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore), on servers located in Johannesburg, South Africa. Access is restricted by security rules so that each student can read and write only their own data. Payment confirmations can also be viewed by the app owner, solely to verify payments.

7. Children's privacy

Enatna is designed for school students, including children under 13, and is intended to be used with the awareness of a parent, guardian or teacher. We collect only the minimum information needed to run the app, we show no advertising, and we do not use children's data for profiling or marketing. If you are a parent or guardian and would like your child's account and data deleted, contact us using the details in section 1 and we will delete it.

8. Data deletion

In the app: go to Profile → Delete my account. This immediately and permanently removes your account, profile, study progress, streak, friends, messages and unlocked subjects. It cannot be undone.

You may also ask us to delete your account by emailing nathnaelkassaye683@gmail.com or messaging the WhatsApp number above with the email address you signed up with. We will delete your account, profile, study data and payment records within 30 days.

9. Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only with the service providers that make the app work — Google Firebase (accounts, database and hosting) — and only where required by Ethiopian law.

10. Security

Passwords are handled entirely by Google Firebase Authentication and are never stored by us. All data travels over encrypted (HTTPS) connections, and database access is restricted by per-user security rules.

11. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, notify you inside the app.
